welcome

Here, you'll find a selection of some of my favorite work over the years.

Like what you see? Let's chat!

There are a lot of things I love about working from home.

Not the least of which would be sitting at my desk in pajama pants and watching Parks and Rec while I edit beautiful pictures from my most recent session or wedding! I’ve always been pretty independent and a TOTAL night owl, so – let’s be honest – the ability to go to bed at 2am, wake up at 10am, and be my own boss? Preeeeetty much ideal for me. In any case, it wasn’t until we moved to our most recent apartment that I really had a designated space to claim as my very own office (i.e. what used to be our dining room). Bless my generous husband for supporting me and allowing me to spread my little wings, pursue my dreams, and totally take over a full, like, 1/6th of our entire living space. I love that studly man, and yes, I’ve promised him his own “man cave” someday.

It has taken me a long time to actually get around to photographing my office – I’m the kind of person who always says “but it’s not DONE yet!” But I mean, come on. It’s never really going to be totally done because I’m always adding little touches to it. So here it is! I’m excited to share this little peek into my daily life with you. Please note: I do try to keep things at least semi-organized in here, but let’s just say everything may have gotten a little extra tidied up for these pictures. 😉 Specifically, there is no large pile of papers to the left of my computer, or any empty coffee mugs to the right. Oh, and of course it’s also missing sticky note reminders on my computer and crumbs on the floor. Hey, I never claimed to be perfect!

Ahhh, the love seat. The crash landing spot for me when I’m tired of sitting at my desk, the “hubband” (Kevin’s alternate name ;)) when he gets home from work and wants to watch a movie, and the dog when he is curious what’s going on outside. This couch has seen many a dog pile (literally) in its day.

Nothing to see here. Just some flowers I added purely for pretty reasons. 🙂 I do however have multiple dried roses from Kevin on my desk, including the first one he ever gave me the week after we met!

This desk was a CRAIGSLIST find!!! Can you believe it? I just about flipped when I called the lady and she said it hadn’t been snatched up yet. It has everything from mail slots to a filing cabinet and lay-flat keyboard drawer. I couldn’t have asked for more. I have to say though – getting it in this room was quite the adventure. Weak Rebekah + solid wood desk = no go. Kevin actually had to ask one of our (disgruntled) neighbors to help carry it in. Haha! A bunch of people have asked what it is, and the best I’ve come up with on google is a “Lexington Long Cove Arcadia” with a hutch.

Another popular question: “What color is on your walls??” Well, it’s a super special “No You May Not Paint The Walls” renters’ brand paint. 😉 I wish I knew, but alas, it’s a mystery!

If I didn’t add camera shots to my office pictures, would I still be considered a photographer?? Also, I am SO excited to now have an Apple watch to help keep everything on track on wedding days! I took it for a test drive just this past Saturday and it. was. awesome.

OCD individuals look away: I cannot promise straight lines or right angles here. But I’d say this is the pièce de résistance of my whole office space – my collage wall! Home to a portrait from nearly each and every one of my wedding couples. Not to mention, strung along the top are film prints from our first anniversary in Charleston, SC. I’m not entirely sure what to do what I run out of wall space, but I’m just not going to worry about that for now!

Um, truer words have never been spoken.^^

This here is a stitched portrait, handed down to me from my paternal grandmother. Heirloom items used to be meaningless to me, but the more I’ve matured the more fascinated by them I’ve become. From being hand-sewn by one of my ancestors in Ireland in 1775 to hanging on my wall in Ashburn, Virginia – it is such an honor to have this historic piece! And to the bottom right, we have the antique china plates Kevin and I used at our wedding reception.

You can’t really see it in the pictures, but I love the ever-so-light damask pattern on these curtains!

This little locket is one of Kevin’s additions! He had kept this since he was a teenager, always planning to someday give it to his wife to wear. As sweet as that is, it’s not quite my everyday style so I’ve chosen to put it to good use elsewhere. 😉

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions in the comments! I’m happy to share where I sourced any of the decorating items, etc. 🙂 xoxo.
